Rovers Taylor-ed Apart By The Bucks

The Bucks were in ruthless form this afternoon, storming to a magnificent 9–1 away win over St Helens Rovers and bagging our first away points of the season in stunning fashion.

It was a steady start with no clear chances in the opening ten minutes, but we broke the deadlock on 19 minutes, Darcey Taylor marked her return to action in the best possible way, racing onto a through ball to slot home and give us the lead. Alice Gannon went close, striking the post from long range, before Darcey struck again on 32 minutes to double our advantage. She wasn’t done there, minutes later she completed a brilliant hat‑trick, weaving through the middle and curling a superb 20‑yard finish right into the top corner. Alice Whorton and Alice Gannon both had efforts saved as we completely dominated, going in at half‑time comfortably ahead 3–0.

We picked up exactly where we left off after the break, Alice Gannon’s cross from the right sailed straight into the net four minutes in to make it 4–0. A rare slip at the back gave St Helens a consolation goal, but that only spurred us on. Darcey Taylor added her fourth just past the hour, then Abi Barrow repeated the trick with a cross that flew in, almost identical to Gannon’s goal, to make it 6–1. Darcey hit the post when through on goal, but quickly made amends, adding her fifth and then her sixth to take the game well beyond reach. Late on, substitute Tayla Castley capped a fantastic team performance with a fine finish to make it 9–1.

A truly dominant display from the girls, and a day Darcey Taylor will never forget, hitting six goals in one match. Up The Bucks!
