Match Preview: St Helens Rovers vs Bootle FC Women

Bootle FC Women are on the road, travelling to Sutton Leisure Centre to take on St Helens Rovers. The girls will be looking to build momentum following last Sunday’s victory, as the Bucks target their first three points away from home this season.

Last Sunday, the Bucks secured an impressive 3–0 win over Sefton Park Rangers at the Berry Street Garage Stadium. Abi Barrow scored a brace and Ev Isuala wrapped up the result. Izzy Cartwright was in fine form early on with two excellent saves, before Barrow’s clever dink gave Bootle a narrow half‑time lead. Barrow struck again early in the second half with a crisp volley from Millie Davis’s free‑kick, and Isuala sealed the win late on, reacting first to her own saved shot to complete a comfortable victory.

Today’s hosts St Helens Rovers are yet to register a point this campaign, following a tough 5–0 home defeat to Skelmersdale Town on opening day. April Baker led the way with a hat‑trick, Anastasia Power made it two on 19 minutes, and Scarlet Causer added a brace either side of the hour mark; Jodie Hoy completed the scoring from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.

The Bucks boast a flawless recent record against St Helens Rovers, winning three consecutive meetings. They claimed a 4–1 away success here at Sutton Leisure Centre last September, followed by a 2–0 home win in March 2026, and most recently a dominant 4–0 victory at the Berry Street Garage Stadium back in April.
