As we are in the later stages of the season we host our local rivals City Of Liverpool at the Berry Street Garage Stadium in which will be Alan Morgan’s first home game as Bootle manager.
Brendan Doyle
Last week Bootle were faced with a 3-0 away defeat to Chasetown, it’s fair to say The Bucks were holding their own up until Chasetown found an opening in the 64th minute thanks to a Kieran Fenton six yard finish, after breaking the deadlock the hosts then showed their quality and proved why they sit comfortably in the play off areas with two further goals from Sam Unitt and Joey Butlin. However one point in six games for Bootle is simply deflating and as a result, we now find ourselves in a relegation battle and a win today against City Of Liverpool is more than needed.
Over the course of the 2024/25 season it would be fair to say The Purps haven’t had luck on their side, on March 8th City Of Liverpool were hit with relegation after 2-0 defeat at Newcastle Town put the nail in their coffin. Last season City Of Liverpool reached both the play off final and the Liverpool Senior Cup but came up short in both however, a fall from grace in football terms may be a fair assessment on their seasonal review. Nonetheless they still have fixtures to fulfil with one of them being against fierce local rival Bootle and will surely want their travelling supporters to walk away with a bit of pride by getting a result.
