Match Preview: Bootle FC Women vs Sefton Park Rangers

This afternoon, Bootle FC Women host Sefton Park Rangers for their first home fixture of the campaign, and the girls are determined to turn last weekend’s away draw into three precious points on home soil at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.

Last Sunday, the Bucks showed real grit to claim a solid opening-day point, fighting back from behind to secure a 1–1 draw at Litherland Remyca. Early chances went agonisingly close before the hosts edged ahead in the second half, but the girls refused to fold, Abi Barrow’s superb 78th-minute finish hauled Bootle level, and though both sides had late opportunities to snatch a winner, a share of the spoils was the fair result.

This afternoon marks Sefton Park’s season opener, having sat out last weekend. History is on the Bucks’ side in recent meetings, Bootle have taken two of the last three clashes, including back-to-back 5–3 victories, though the most recent meeting ended in a 3–0 victory for the visitors at this ground. The girls will be hungry to right that wrong today, kickstart their home campaign, and claim their first win of the season.
