Motors Crash Against The Bucks

Bootle maintain a 100% win record after another clinical performance away from home defeating Vauxhall Motors 4-0.
In the twenty first minute Bootle took the lead with the first shot on target of the game as Jack McGowan laid the ball off to Ben Hodkinson who’s first time effort put Bootle ahead, I mean, who else? Just three minutes later Vauxhall Motors attempted to get themselves back in the game as a long ball from Jack Atkinson found Sam Turner who broke free and made an effort from twenty five yards out but it was straight at Joe Mason.
Just past the half an hour mark a loose ball fell into the path of Lewis Doyle who’s thunderous first time effort flew past Jack Atkinson to double Bootle’s lead, well deserved for Doyle who’s been nothing short of excellent in the midfield since his arrival in the summer. The first half ended 2-0 to Bootle in what started as a tricky affair but The Bucks settled into the game and gained their rewards as a result.
In the second half Vauxhall Motors quickly began to mount the pressure on Bootle as a free kick from a fair distance was sent into the box which ended up falling to former Bootle player Michael Burkey who met it with a volley but the effort fizzed just wide, close call for Bootle. After Adam Rooney mistimed a clearance, Ben Hodkinson pounced on the error and was one on one with Jack Atkinson and went round him but managed to put his shot wide, it certainly should’ve been 3-0 to Bootle at that point.
As the game went on it was a fairly contested second half until Matty Fenton got his head to the ball which bounced off the crossbar but he managed to snatch a rebounded effort to give Bootle a three goal lead. After five minutes of Bootle gaining a three goal lead substitute Ste Edmondson went one on one with Jack Atkinson and sat the Vauxhall Motors keeper down which he then hit home Bootle’s fourth and final goal of the night, another outstanding performance from The Bucks as we maintain our 100% win record in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
