Bootle defeat Sefton Park Rangers 3-0 at the Berry Garage Stadium with an Abi Barrow brace and a goal from Ev Isuala.

After ten minutes of play, a loose ball in the Bootle area fell into the path of a Sefton Park Rangers shirt who got a shot away but Bucks keeper Izzy Cartwright made a good save to keep the scoreline at 0-0. Izzy Cartwright was once again called into action as a shot from outside the box seemed to be dangerously dipping in but Izzy Cartwright made a fantastic stretched save and tipped the ball onto the crossbar and managed to collect it to prevent any rebounds from the visitors.

Just past the half an hour mark, Bootle still hadn’t had a single clear cut chance until Abi Barrow pick the ball up down the right hand side and took a dinked effort just inside the area which went over the keeper’s head, off the post and in, a fantastic goal from Abi Barrow to give Bootle the lead. The first half ended 1-0 to The Bucks which Sefton Park Rangers seemed to have the upper hand in, but thanks to great goalkeeping from Izzy Cartwright and an astonishing goal from Abi Barrow, it was Bootle who went into the tunnel ahead.

Early into the second half, Sefton Park Rangers won a corner which was whipped in to an unmarked shirt who managed to get a header on it but it went only inches wide, a very close chance for the visitors. In the mid stages of the half, Bootle won a free kick not too far out from the halfway line which Millie Davis chipped towards Abi Barrow who latched onto the set piece with a half volley which flew past the keeper to double not only Bootle’s goal tally but her own goal tally also with another great finish.

Bootle continued to dominate the game and grew a lot more comfortable after scoring the second goal, in the eighty third minute Ev Isuala managed to carry the ball from the midfield into the Sefton Park Rangers area and got a shot away which in all fairness, was brilliantly saved, but Ev Isuala stayed alert and followed up the effort by scoring Bootle’s third goal with a rebound to put Bootle 3-0 up. The match ended 3-0 in what would be a comfortable win for the girls in their second competitive game of the season.
