Bootle Women take on Hesketh Colts

Match Preview: Bootle Women vs Hesketh Colts

Sunday 30 November 2025 – 2:00pm

Berry Street Garage Stadium

Bootle Women return to The Berry Street Garage Stadium this Sunday for their first home league fixture since the opening day, as they welcome 9th-placed Hesketh Colts. After a frustrating defeat last weekend, the Bucks will be determined to respond with a strong performance and secure a vital three points on home soil.

Last Time Out: Parklands 4–2 Bootle

Bootle fell to a 4–2 loss away at Parklands in the reverse league fixture, despite a spirited first-half response.

The afternoon began poorly for the Bucks, who conceded from a corner in the 24th minute when Eleanor Davis was left unmarked to head Parklands in front. But Bootle reacted brilliantly. Moments later, a corner of their own found its way to Millie Davis, who powered home a near-post header to level the score.

The momentum then swung completely in Bootle’s favour. A superb long ball from deep inside the Bucks’ half released Poppie O’Neil, who burst down the left, cut inside, and curled a clinical finish into the far corner to give Bootle a 2–1 lead at the break.

However, the second half unravelled for the visitors. Parklands struck three times through Macey Watts, Erin McLoughlin, and a second goal from Eleanor Davis, who again capitalised on another set-piece lapse. The hosts’ dominance after the restart left Bootle with too steep a mountain to climb and condemned them to a disappointing defeat.

The Visitors: Hesketh Colts

Hesketh Colts arrive on Merseyside looking for their first league win of the season and hoping to bounce back after a difficult run of results. The Colts have conceded 23 goals across their last three matches, suffering heavy defeats to both Clay Brow and Vauxhall Motors.

They did, however, boost their confidence in cup action two weekends ago with a convincing 5–1 victory away at Sefton Park Rangers. Goals from Megan Birchall, Macy Rimmer, Destiny Simms, and a brace from Tegan Rothlisberger helped secure their first group-stage win and showcased their attacking potential.

What’s at Stake

Bootle currently sit sixth in the table, slipping down following last Sunday’s defeat. A win this weekend could help them climb back into the top five and regain momentum heading into the busy winter period.

For Hesketh Colts, Sunday represents an opportunity to finally notch their first league victory of the campaign. Both sides have plenty riding on the result, setting the stage for another important and competitive afternoon at The Berry Street Garage Stadium.
