Bootle’s third pre season outing ends in a 2-0 defeat with both goals coming in the first half of the match.
Within the first minutes of the game, Bootle found the back of the net by way of a Ryan Beigan effort from a rebound but unfortunately the linesman’s flag went up for offside.
Shortly after, Stephen Edmondson made a run into the box and played a ball across the face of goal to the path of Michael Simpson but Simpson couldn’t get a clean enough connection on the ball to trouble the keeper.
After two big chances not taken by Bootle, the hosts capitalised and took the lead after seventeen minutes of play. Only minutes later, Bootle came close to snatching an equaliser as Jack McGowan closed down the Llandudno keeper by intercepting an attempted long ball forward, McGowan then played the ball into Ste Edmondson but Edmondson miss hit the shot.
Just before half time, Llandudno doubled their lead after a great ball was fed through to the centre forward and he then calmly buried his one on one effort past Bayleigh Passant.
Bootle come out on the front foot after the half time break as a ball was put in the box from out wide towards Jack McGowan but the delivery had just a little too much height on it for McGowan to make a connection to the ball. After a set piece was taken and a short scramble in the Llandudno area, the ball ended up in Tom Hannigan’s possession who took a chance towards goal but his effort struck the post.
Ste Edmondson made a shot on goal outside the area which took a big deflection which the Llandudno keeper made a tremendous save to prevent Bootle pulling a goal back. Llandudno very nearly got a third goal as Matty Fenton misjudged a header back towards the trialist goalkeeper for Bootle, which seen a Llandudno shirt go one on one with Bootle’s Trialist goalkeeper but the keeper made a great save to keep the game at 2-0.
The game would finish 2-0 to Llandudno as Bootle continue their 2026/27 pre season journey.
