Bootle Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Courtney Duffus from Macclesfield.

Duffus, 28, joined Macclesfield earlier this year and made nine appearances for the Silkmen this season, in the Pitching In Northern Premier League - Premier Division.

Duffus, born in Cheltenham, progressed through the Cheltenham Town Academy before signing for Everton, where he got his first professional deal in 2014. He never made a First Team appearance for Everton, but was an unused substitute in their UEFA Europa League Round of 32 win over Young Boys in 2015. He mainly featured for the Under-21's, winning the PL2 Player of the Month in April 2016.

After a loan to League Two side Bury, he signed for Oldham Athletic in 2019, with a loan at Waterford in 2019. He got more EFL experience at Yeovil Town, playing 57 times in his 2 year spell, scoring 18 goals.

Over the last three years, Courtney has enjoyed stints at Morecambe, Bromley, Stockport County, Barrow and Hartlepool United, floating in and around the EFL and the National League.

The striker also represented Republic of Ireland at youth level.

Duffus dropped down to the NPL in the summer to play for Macclesfield, and arrives at the Berry Street Garage Stadium ahead of Saturday's game against Stalybridge Celtic.

Welcome to Bootle, Courtney!
