Tomorrow, Bootle FC Women make the short trip to Simpsons Football Hub after the reverse of the original fixture, where they will face MSB Woolton Reserves. in a crucial league encounter. The Bucks will be determined to secure their first three league points since October as they look to build momentum heading into the latter stages of the campaign. With the table beginning to take shape, every point is vital, and Sunday’s clash presents a big opportunity to kick-start a strong run of form.

It has been a frustrating few weeks for the squad following the postponement of back-to-back home league fixtures against Vauxhall Motors Women and Clay Brow Women. The lack of match action has inevitably slowed the rhythm of a young side that only formed in June last year, but the work behind the scenes has not stopped. Garbe and his coaching staff have ensured standards remain high on the training pitch, with the squad focused, sharp, and fully prepared for what promises to be a competitive test against Woolton.

Like Bootle, Woolton have endured a mixed start to 2026. They enjoyed success in the LWYFL Open Age Cup, securing victory in their opening group game thanks to goals from Chloe Goulding, Claudia Hutton and a brace from Leah Weaver to overcome Parklands Ladies. However, league form has proven more challenging, highlighted by a 6–1 defeat to Sefton Park Rangers at Tiber Football Centre.

Just three points separate the two sides heading into Sunday’s encounter, with Woolton sitting fifth on thirteen points and the Bucks two places behind in seventh. With promotion spots still within reach, both teams know the importance of claiming all three points as the season moves toward its decisive stages. Expect a competitive, high-intensity battle as Bootle look to close the gap and reignite their league campaign.
