The Bucks Defeat the World’s First Football Club in a routine 3-0 win.

Bootle flew out from the off in Dronfield as Sam Hughes made a headed ball towards Dior Angus at the back post but the latter couldn’t connect to it in time. Bootle almost put themselves in a spot of danger as Sean Smith played a back pass to Tony Thompson and was nearly closed down by the forward but the Bootle keeper managed to clear the ball.

Sheffield once again posed a threat to Bootle as a ball out wide was played in to Connor Cutts but he just couldn’t meet the ball with a connection. The hosts floated in a long ball from a free kick but Tony Thompson caught it with ease to prevent a Sheffield opener.

Sean Smith attempted to help Bootle get their noses in front as he whipped in a ball to Courtney Duffus but his header only fell wide. Harry Spooner seemed as though he was through on goal to open the scoring for Sheffield but the linesman put his flag up.

Harry Rimmer found the net on his Bootle debut just before the half an hour mark as he danced through numerous Sheffield players and found the far corner. Right just before half time Harry Rimmer once again found the net from his yards out via a deflected shot putting The Bucks 2-0 up at half time.

Bootle entered the second half looking very threatening as Courtney Duffus played in a ball towards the Sheffield area but Joe West cleared it from danger. Dior Angus was played in by Joe Woolley to go one on one with the keeper but scuffed his effort wide, a miss he would’ve kicked himself over.

Dior Angus played in Joe Woolley but Woolley’s effort to try and make it 3-0 was blocked by Sheffield’s Will Portman. Bootle’s big chance to make it 3-0 finally paid off as Courtney Duffus buried a penalty straight down the middle.

Sheffield attempted to come back into game as a corner was floated in to which Bradley Beatson got a head to but the effort was cleared off the line. Jack McGowan took a shot from the edge of the box in an attempt to make it 4-0 but the shot rolled wide.

Harry Rimmer took a shot from inside the box in an effort to try and claim a hat trick on his debut but Rimmer would only walk away with a brace as his effort was excellently blocked. The full time score was 3-0 which seen Bootle advance to the next round of the FA Cup.
