Sefton Park Rangers were victorious in a 3-0 win at The Berry Street Garage Stadium.
Within the first thirty seconds of the game, the visitors took the lead after the ball fell to their number seven as she took a shot which fizzled into the top corner to give Sefton Park Rangers a very early lead. Moments later Bootle attempted to get the game level as Alice Whorton fed a ball into Poppie O’Neill but O’Neill’s first time effort was hit straight over.
Another chance came Bootle’s way as Caitlyn Rogers managed to run past two defenders and get a shot on goal but the Sefton Park Rangers keeper was there to see to the shot and prevent an equaliser. The last chance of the first half was a Millie Davis free kick which was from long distance but Davis attempted the shot nonetheless but it went just inches over the bar.
Early into the second half Sefton Park Rangers were awarded a free kick from a fair bit away from goal, the visitor’s skipper struck the free kick towards goal which looked threatening but Izzy Cartwright managed to tip it over the bar. Unfortunately for Bootle however, Sefton Park Rangers did double their lead as a deflected shot bounced into the path of their forward who was there to ensure a second goal to double their lead.
Poppie O’Neill almost got a goal back for Bootle as she won the ball in a tight area and managed to get a shot away but it only fizzled wide of the goal. As the later stage of the game approached, Sefton Park Rangers grabbed their third and final goal in the eighty second minute as a scramble in the box fell to an unmarked Sefton Park Rangers shirt which allowed them to capitalise on it and make it 3-0. The result would finish 3-0 to Sefton Park Rangers.
