Connor Millington continues his scoring run by putting Bootle into the lead. He took the ball down on his chest from a long ball, a little dink over Leek keeper Daniel Roberts outrushing to the ball, and it left an empty net to tap into and it was never in doubt.
Another chance as a Jack McGowan longshot was easily gathered by Daniel Roberts.
A moment of magic from Leek Town’s Daniel Trickett-Smith as his audacious effort nestled into the top right corner, no chance for Theo Roberts.
The half was drawing to a close with some Bootle corners, a couple in quick succession not threatening the Leek goal.
By far the best Bootle chance in the second half was started by Matty McDonald’s shot being blocked by Oliver Harrison, then Jordan Wynne followed up by striking the post from the follow up volley.
Two goals in quick succession saw Leek carried a two goal advantage and take a 3-1 lead. The first goal was a ball across the box and Ammar Dyer nodded home from point-blank range to take the scoring to 2-1, but on the counter-attack not long after kick-off, Daniel Trickett-Smith slotted past Theo Roberts to send the Leek faithful wild.
A dangerous corner by Connor Millington was flicked on by Will Bell, but Jack McGowan blazes over from range.
The last chance for Bootle to grab a consolation was a Morgan Homson-Smith freekick, the fierce strike was nearly spilled by Daniel Roberts but picked up just as a Bootle player was rushing to put it in.
