Not a lot of action in the opening ten minutes, except a nasty head injury for Cables with Harry Cannon-Noren sustaining the injury, having to be stretchered off.
The first chance of the games fell to the home side. A good effort from Jack Goodwin from range flew just over the crossbar.
Bootle had the ball in the net. A lobbed by Ben Hodkinson flew over the keeper, but was just caught offside.
Prescot take the lead. Sam O'Halleron drives into the box and squares it for Taylor Brickell, who smashes home the opener.
Josh Gregory clears off the line from a Jordan Wynne chance.
Sam O’Halleron tapped home as the home side thought they had doubled their lead, but he was penalised for offside.
A frustrating start to the second half for the Bucks, an abundance of chances denied by a tight Cables backline. The best chance was for Ben Hodkinson when his powerful header was tipped over by Mitchell Allan.
The Bucks persistent pressure payed off as Tom Peterson took the ball down on his chest and volleyed home an equaliser for Bootle with just one minute of normal time to play.
But that was all in vain as minutes later, Cables led a counter attack that Charlie Glennon arrowed into the net after he rounded Theo Roberts in stoppage time to sink the dominant Bucks.
