@Bootle_FC had to settle for a point in a second consecutive league game of the season as they drew 1-1 at home against Skelmersdale United.
An even first half which the Bucks edged by forcing the visiting 'keeper into a couple of good saves whilst also having a Chad Whyte goal denied by the linesman's flag.
The teams headed into half time at 0-0 with all to play for in the second half.
Skemersdale United quickly took the lead after half time with a goal courtesy of Joel Douglas on 49 minutes.
The away teams goal spurred the Bucks into life and it was pretty much one way traffic from there on out.
A whole host of chances went begging for the Bucks who's long unbeaten run looked in serious jeopardy until Carl Peers nodded in his second goal of the season with 80 minutes on the clock to make it 1-1.
Joe Doran's men pressed for a winner and had plenty of chances to get it, the best falling to Carl Peers who fired wide of the mark with just moments remaining.
Two games, two draws and two points for Bootle who'll head to Bradford in search of victory this Saturday as they take on Eccleshill United in the cup.
