Bucks claim the win

We where approaching three weeks before our last game and it was still touch and go if it would be on due to the heavy rain during the week so it was a relief when we finally arrived at the ground to find the pitch in good condition and we would be able to get a game of football under our belts.

We had a near on full squad for a change with Melody making his debut so it would be interesting to see him play with his new team mates and how he fits in.

Kingsley were our opponents today, we’ve not played them in a good while so we needed to respect our opponents and put in a hard working display.

The game kicked off and we were instantly on the front foot, winning first and second balls as well keeping possession of the ball.
This enabled us to score two early goals through Callum and Tim in the first five minutes but after this we became complacent. Credit to Kingsley too they never let their heads drop and they still battled causing us problems on the break.
Matty then scored from a free kick on the left hand side about 20 yards, which evaded everyone, this gave us confidence to gain a further foothold on the game again.
Charlie deputised for Matty in goal with ten minutes of the first half left and made a great save from an awkward cross which rebounded and then saw Kian clear off the line.
HT 0-3
The young Bucks certainly stepped up their play in the second half with Melody now on the pitch and having a big impact on the game along with Callum and Glen.
Melody looked like he was fitting in with our style greatly by keeping things simple and showing energy and bite.
Joel and Sean marshalled the defence well, cutting out any counter attacks swiftly ably assisted by Matty D in goal.
This enabled us to go on and score some great goals, two from Callum one being not far from the half line where he lobbed the keeper who was off his line and the other after a great ball from Elliott’s the left hand side. Elliott was fouled in the area shortly after but we were unable to convert, we then added another goal after an own goal to make it six. The last goal was converted by Glen after him having a great game on the left and failing to convert after numerous chances, this was a great part of the game as the lads and the line all celebrated with Glen, it showed the great camaraderie and spirit in the team this season.
HT 0-7

A good game all round with some good footie and goals on display but credit to Kingsley whose heads never dropped and continued to work.

Goals Callum x 3, Tim x 1, Matty x 1 and an own goal
MOM Callum has big claims for this but he’s just pipped by Melody, playing his first game for, he made a big impression and looked like he’d been playing with us for years, well done.
