Bootle U9’s Blue v Warbreck Warriors
Supplementary Cup match Wednesday 20/03/19
8pm Kick off at Waterloo Rugby Club
A late night match under the floodlights saw Bootle with just 7 players available with a shuffle round in positions for a few players. Ethan donned the goalkeeper gloves and Jack took on the role of centre forward.
Straight from the kick Bootle took control of the game, dominating Warbreck. The team some really nice fluent passing and were unlucky to score a couple of early goals. Eventually the pressure paid off and Jack scored the opening goal of the game to put Bootle 1-0 up. Both teams had chances leading up to half time but no more goals were added.

The second half started in the same vein as the first half with Bootle controlling proceedings but against the run of play Warbreck grabbed an equaliser. This seemed to inspire Bootle into another gear and 3 minutes later took the lead again with Nathan firing past the Warbreck keeper.
That goal seemed to deflate the opposition as Bootle dominated the midfield and a strong defence not allowing much for their strikers to feed off.
Eventually the inevitable 3rd goal arrived courtesy of Jack making the score 3-1 and giving a slightly truer reflection to the scoreline.
A dominant performance from Bootle with every player playing their part in what was the team’s best performance so far. Bootle listened to Matty and carried out their roles as he’d asked them to prior to and during the game.
