Rain, rain go away Buck win another game!

After a wash out two days previous the Buck’s were like a coiled spring waiting to explode. Today’s opponents came from the FC Northern stable and looked like a true thoroughbred in the opening minutes. Their first and only goal came after a long through ball from the goal keeper. With Thomas’ Nan the only person in defence, the ball flew over Max’s head as the sun blurred his vision. The boy’s heads didn’t drop and they started to dominate possession. It took mere minutes for the Buck’s to draw level as Euan hustled through the middle, one step over, two step overs and boom! Bottom left finish. With the boy’s relaxed the silky football began to flow.

Next up was Michael with an intelligent run from the back. He took on one, two and the belted the ball against the post. An on rushing Thomas gambled like a young Tony Cottee and buried the rebound. Two nil and just the start. Brayshaw added his intelligent runs, twists and turns placing some quality goals across the box which, on another day, would have hit the back of the onion bag. Soon to follow with a lung busting run was Freddo, picking the ball off of Hudson, steaming through his opposition and adding to his impressive seasons tally.

Second 20. Wadey stamped his authority on the game adding a special kind of coolness in midfield, moving through the gears and adding to Lucas B’s dangerous balls across the box. It was Wadey’s cool passing that led to a run from Hudson, who passed to Cody who then swerved down the right wing and unleashed a shot that beat the keeper to his right. Another goal from midfield and a brace for Freddo. The pattern of the game continued only interrupted by Charlie taking one to the crown jewels.

He Shook it off like a true pro and left the field to count his nuggets only to return with a spring in his step and a squeak to his voice. At this point the Buck’s were in total control sweeping the ball from left to right with aplomb. Then, moments before the final whistle came the goal of the season. No. The goal of the century. It came from Wilberto Carlos who struck a left footed thunder bolt which swerved into the top bin. The crowd went wild as he reeled off toward the opposition’s fans. What a goal. What a game. Top of another league. Onwards and upwards.
