Bootle vs FC Northern Black

On a perfect day for football, Bootle were looking to continue their winning form. However, against a physical Northern team, this could have been a tough test akin to a Barcelona versus Burnley type challenge. Or so we thought. It didn’t take long for the boys to take control, moving the ball around sweetly from back to front with ease. Lucas S opened the scoring with an exquisite touch over the defenders head and half volley with his weaker foot. Michael got in on the act powering a free kick through a crowded area to put Bootle two up. Not to be outshone Wade, completed an excellent week in which he became a big brother for a second time, showing some tight control to bury the ball past a plucky keeper.

Again, on came the engine room to stoke the misery of an out of sorts opposition. Hudson left his mark on the their big centre back, ensuring he knew who was in charge. Euan again ran his legs off, turning defence into attack like Graveson before he got into property and beautiful women. After a lull in the scoring Lucas B found the net with a sweet, low finish. Big Willy cut in to curl a left footer into the bottom right. Five nil. Job done and time to release the hounds.

On came a hyped Freddo and Sweeney, looking to bag a few more for the team. Once again, Cody put in a mega shift, tackling, passing and finally BOOM! Placed ball in to the roof of the net. Refusing to give up Euan continued to harass the opposition but the ball would just not fall on to that deadly left foot. It was now Max’s time to shine as he continued to guard the goal, refusing to let his clean sheet record slip, directing his defence and making a goal saving challenge just outside of his area. With their big lad in goal producing some exquisite saves Bootle were finding it hard to penetrate but eventually Lucas B found the net again after a fine run in to the box, a fine finish and a celebration second to none.

Fourth quarter and a last roll of the dice saw their big man going up front. Alas, he was no Duncan Ferguson and continued to be shut out by a determined Mike Dijk and obstinate Wade. It was the latter who popped up with the 8th taking advantage of slack defending slotting home with aplomb. Finally, to top off a super team performance Lucas S curled a sublime free kick in the net capping what was a comprehensive victory!
