Bootle VS Silcox Villa - Semi Final

Nerves were jangling, nails were bitten and bums were squeaky. That was just the parents. It was semi-final time and Bootle U7s were facing a team who had given them a tough test in their last match two weeks previous. Kick off and despite Lucas S peppering the goal the break through took some time. Finally, it came with Cody breaking the deadlock collecting the rebound and burying his shot. It was then that the shackles came off and the net started to bulge. Lucas S struck twice, Cody made it a brace and with Charlie and Michael pulling the strings in the middle of the park there was no stopping them. On to the second half.  
Silcocks were valiant but no match for a Bootle team taking no prisoners. Will and Euan had entered the fray tormenting the opposition defence with deft touches and sheer hustle. Will struck the fifth with a scrambled effort before Charlie struck with some intricate play in the box. Lucas B added to the pressure on the opposition defence making several mazy runs aiming cross after cross at the feet of his attacking team mates. It was then Euan’s turn sending the keeper sprawling to the left as he buried the ball in the bottom right corner. Then came a jinking run from Michael taking on the entire team and hitting a right footed curler into the net to cap off a man of the match performance. However, it needs to be said that this amazing performance was built on a solid showing at the back as Alfie and Max let no one past, with both sending through some defence splitting passes through the middle of the park. 8 nil isn’t a bad result but it wasn’t enough for the team as Lucas S planted a Sigurdsson esq free kick into the brave Silcocks keepers net.
9 goals. One clean sheet. Bring on the final!!!!!!!!!
