The game got off to a slow start with no major chances for either side, the first chance of the game however was a shot from Ben Hodkinson as he aimed for the bottom right corner but Alfie Venners made an easy save to the shot. In the twentieth minute of the game, Avro hitman Kyle Hawley put the ball in the net but the linesman’s flag went up for offside.
Ryan Beigan attempted to put Bootle in front as he hit the ball on a half volley but the effort deflected out for a corner which Bootle then failed to make anything of the set piece. The biggest chance of the half came to Kyle Hawley as his header was saved by Tony Thompson and the ball bounced off both posts before being cleared away by Tom Hannigan.
Just four minutes into the second half seen Bootle go 1-0 up as Jack Lenehan buried his rebounded effort, a deserved lead as Bootle started the second half really well. After the opening goal for Bootle, Avro attempted to create their own chances but were failing to do so and just couldn’t seem to settle into the game, which massively cost them as Ste Edmundson comes off the bench and just four minutes later he received a ball from over the top and put the ball in the back of the net to double Bootle’s lead.
In the eighty sixth minute, Lewis Earl got Bootle a third as he met a long ball from a free kick with a half volley to give Bootle a comfortable 3-0 lead late on in the game. The match would finish 3-0 to Bootle at the Vestacare Stadium to end our recent bad run of form as The Bucks finally get back to winning ways.
