We are re-opening for certain activities

Since our announcement on 1st October we have been reviewing the procedures in place at Bootle Football Club with respect to COVID-19. We have equally been aware of the announcements which were due from the Government on Monday evening.

A staggered re-opening of the Berry Street Garage Stadium will begin from Thursday 15th October. This will extend to hybrid pitch bookings, 3G pitch bookings and competitive matches only.

Under Tier 3 restrictions organised team sports are permitted, so long as governing body guidelines are followed. It is the responsibility of those who play and attend the venue to follow the Football Association guidelines with respect to participant behaviour and spectators. As a venue we must enforce this if there are identified breaches.

The bar and the clubhouse will not be open during these times. This is due to Liverpool City Region restrictions on hospitality. We are working to establish if there are ways to provide some of these provisions in a compliant and above all safe manner.

These are difficult times but we know the benefits that physical exercise provides to individuals. Equally we understand the negative impacts on mental well-being which can occur with a prolonged suspension.

That said, we cannot sugar-coat it. Whilst we will take all the steps we can to minimise the impact operating the club with these limitations is not sustainable forever.

The greater need of the community warrants us trying to open up what we can.

All of this is subject to change based on local authority, governing body, or central government decisions.
