It is with a heavy heart we have decided to close all operations at Bootle Football Club, and the Berry Street Garage Stadium, for the next two weeks.

This will be reviewed during this time to determine when it is appropriate to reopen. We will only do so when it is believed that the risk to those who attend can be appropriately managed.

As a business we have a responsibility for the health and safety of those who attend the club and use our facilities. The increasing rates of coronavirus infection in Liverpool, and specifically in the local area, give us cause for concern that we can achieve this.

The recent announcements from the Health Secretary around restrictions in the Liverpool City Region mean we believe that it is our responsibility to take this action to further protect the local community.

We have held discussions with the local authority, who are fully supportive of the decision that has been made.

In recent weeks we have become aware of positive tests of people who have attended the club or used it’s facilities. There is no evidence that transmission took place at the club, but it is apparent that the proximity of cases is getting closer.

During this time we will be reviewing all measures that are in place, but assure that we will only seek to open again once we know the business can operate safely and sustainably.

For those who have committed to the season with Season Tickets and Fan Cards, these will remain valid throughout the rest of the playing season depending on when upcoming fixtures are re-arranged for. We will contact you all directly to confirm this, but please just bear with us.
