Bootle Football Club would like to congratulate our Under 21’s manager Chris Jones who has been appointed first-team manager at Cheshire league club Knowsley South, we wish him all the best on his new role.

Since this news the club has decided to review our development set up and the following changes have been agreed.

Our successful Under 18 management team led by Dave Gell will take over Bootle FC Reserves who will play in the West Cheshire League with the players transitioning from Youth to Adult football.

Our under 21 team that played Sundays will be disbanded from next season.

The remaining junior teams will continue via our Bootle Youth Academy and Under 18’s next season will be under the stewardship of Paul Leary. We have also expressed an interest in entering a team in the new Liverpool Sunday youth league. More to come as that develops.

Thanks to all the U21 players, and especially to Chris, Marc Seddon and Neil Blythe for their hard work in setting-up, running the team, and providing quality performances in the competition and players for the first team - most notably Johnny Foy who became a 1st team regular from September.

All players and staff are invited to our club presentation this Friday 24th May 7.30pm start at the TDP Solicitors Stadium
